Each year, over 40,000 people in the United States lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents. That’s one every 13 minutes. They’re called accidents because they are unplanned—unexpected. But don’t think for a second these accidents, or any others, are unavoidable. This program, for employees who drive as part of their normal work activities, examines four interrelated elements of accident-free driving: defensive driving, space management, the condition of the driver, and the condition of the vehicle. It also describes three important safety features found in most automobiles (safety belts, air bags and antilock braking systems) and explains how they can minimize injury or help you avoid accidents altogether. 20:30 min.
